The length of drip line should not exceed 60 meters from the point the water enters the line. Thus you could have 120 meters of lateral drip line if the water enters in the middle.  We recommend using a main feeder pipe and having your drip line laid in a grid pattern.

A flush valve acts as an additional preventative from having blocked emitters in your drip line pipe.  It should be installed at the lowest point of the system; this is to allow any rubbish that may have made its way into the system to be flushed out. The flush valve lets approximately 2 litres of water out each time the system is turned on and is a must have for any drip system.

Pressure compensating refers to the actual drip line emitters which are designed to deliver a precise amount of water, no matter the water flow or pressure.  This means you can irrigate with uniformity and without water pooling in one area.  Pressure compensating drip line is ideal for sloping lawns or gardens.

Unless you have dripline that is XR rated and designed to be subsurface, you should not bury your dripline under dirt or soil.  We do however recommend covering your dripline with mulch to aid in reducing the amount of water evaporation.

Most plants will only require 1 - 2 emitters, for larger trees and shrubs we would recommend making a ring of dripline around each tree so all roots are getting the required amount of water needed.

Anti-drain valves prevent sprinkler heads from dripping once your system has been turned off.  This means certain plants or seedlings will not receive more water at the end of a watering cycle.
