Wiring an irrigation is fairly uncomplicated and an electrician is unnecessary in most cases. Once you have worked out the amount of zones required you can connect your cable to the same number of terminals on your controller.  All controllers come included with step by step instructions and if you are still not feeling confident, Dural Irrigation can guide you through the whole process.  Remember any mistakes can be undone and rectified.

Tap timers typically have an internal built in valve, are battery operated and service only one zone. Most Tap Timers have a limited flow and limited functionality. Whereas automatic controllers the solenoid valves are separate, can service multiple zones and are battery or mains power operated. For more complex programming and functionality we recommend investing in an automatic controller with the ability to connect other accessories such as sensors.

Most controllers require 240V power, although there are some battery or solar operated controllers on the market. Because an irrigation controller is essentially a computer we recommend a power surge protector.

Simply no, although most new controllers coming out on the market have either built in WiFi software or require a module. We recommend purchasing a WiFi compatible controller incase this is a feature you would like or need in the future.  Smart irrigation systems have been a requirement for water restrictions in the past.

A smart irrigation system is a system that is controlled by a device that is programmed to automatically adjust your watering patterns depending on changes in weather and/or water demand.  The system will usually consist of an automatic controller and sensor or a WiFi controller with built in weather sensor software.

The most common reason for systems to cycle more than once is having programmed too many Start Times. Hunter controllers allow you to setup multiple Start Times to run programs more than once a day. These start times are sometimes confused with zones or stations.  At each Start Time the controller will cycle through all the Station Run Times on that given program. You can eliminate Start Times using the arrow buttons and finding OFF in between 11:45pm and 12:00am or midnight.
