How can I save water with an irrigation system?

Interval watering is the most economic and water efficient way to irrigate. Most irrigation products on the market are designed to deliver optimum amounts of water without the wastage.  Installing a smart system ensures your watering will not cycle on during or after rain.

What is a "smart irrigation" system?

A smart irrigation system is controlled by a device that is programmed to automatically adjust your watering patterns depending on changes in weather and/or water demand.  The system will usually consist of an automatic controller and sensor or a WiFi controller with built in weather sensor software.

Can I run an irrigation system off a garden tap?

Simply yes, the amount of sprinklers or dripline you can run will be determined by your water flow and pressure from the garden tap.  We recommend installing a backflow device directly on your tap and in some cases a booster pump maybe needed.

Do I need a plumber to install my irrigation system?

No, if you are not tapping into your mains water supply.  Most irrigation systems are easy to install and Dural Irrigation are here to give you expert advice and support to guide you through the whole process, from choosing the right products and fittings to after installation support.

Do I need a filter for my irrigation system?

We recommend using a filter with every irrigation system. Even mains water can carry particles that can eventually clog your system and impact performance. We recommend using a disc filter with at least 120 mesh, consider it an insurance product for your system.

Can I use gravity feed for my irrigation?

Gravity feed irrigation is only an option for low pressure applications, for example drippers and dripline.  For a gravity feed system to perform well, we recommend installing your holding tank higher than 10 meters and using the least amount of fittings as possible. The main feeder pipe should not be any less than 25mm.
