Philmac’s range of poly fittings and valves are made right here in Australia. They are designed and manufactured to suit demanding Australian conditions, and undertake extensive testing in the laboratories and in the field to make sure that they do. Philmac – proudly developing and manufacturing products in Adelaide, South Australia since 1929.

Compression fittings do not require thread tape as it is not the thread the seals the fittings but rather compression nut.  For all Philmac Poly BSP Threaded fittings, we would recommend using a quality Teflon tape with at least 8-10 rotations in a clockwise direction.  The Teflon thread tape will create an air tight and water proof seal.

Philmac Poly Threaded fittings are manufactured from high performance, UV resistant polypropylene material that prevents moisture absorption and sustains product dimensions. The chemical and corrosion resistance provides a reliable and long life for the fitting. Compression fittings are manufactured from lightweight, high performance thermoplastic materials with outstanding impact, UV and corrosion resistance. The materials used are non-toxic and taint free.

Philmac poly fittings are frost rated but not freeze rated.   Poly pipe and fittings are able to cope with some extra pressure associated with frost as it can expand along its length to absorb a limited amount of expansion. Brass fittings do not allow for this extra pressure and we recommend installing plastic or poly fittings in frost prone areas.

PVC threaded fittings have a BSP thread, the same for poly threaded fittings.  This allows you to go from poly pipe to PVC or vice versa.  BSP stands for British Standard Plumbing and is common in Australia and the commonwealth countries. It is based on trade size rather than actual diameter which can lead to some confusion when measuring ports.

Yes, Philmac recycled water fittings work the same as all other fittings. Recycled water products are coloured lilac for indicative purposes for use with reclaimed and recycled water. The colour is necessary for easy identification purposes as it marks as a warning for non drinking water.

I received the products I ordered very quickly, considering I am on the other side of the country. There was a mistake in my order, and I got sent the wrong sprinkler heads, both are similar, so mistakes do happen. My experience with Dural was no good at all.I placed two orders of plumbing parts for my project. One order arrived about a week later but not the second. I emailed to ask about the second order and they said I would be refunded. I asked what happened to the order and they said those parts were on back order and not available. No apology, no nothing.Listen up Dural, if the parts are unavailable, then not only should the order not be able to be placed, but if it is placed, you should contact the customer as soon as possible and offer an apology.Pathetic

From my recent experience I would not be recommending this shop. I recently used the online store pricing to get an estimate on a number of parts that I required for some pumps. Upon purchasing the parts in store for a price of $811.32 it was $250 more expensive that on line. There is no pricing listed on the shelves, only barcodes and product names. When questioning the staff on this significant price increase their answer was "you can ask questions in store" the only advise provided what where the products were as I already knew what I wanted. If you look in the T&C's on the website it states "special online pricing" but I feel a 25% markup is a bit extreme especially when you have to go digging through the T&C's. As someone that prefers to "shop local, support local" I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on to other suppliers that actually look after their customers and don't over charge them.

Placed an order (72599) on Sept 9. Package arrived late and missing key items (pipe + cutter). Emails before and after delivery were all ignored. Right now I’ve got fittings I can’t even use. At this point it feels like the order has been abandoned and customer service is completely unresponsive. Will update if they fix this.Update (30 Sept): The missing pipe and cutter finally arrived today. I’m glad to have the full order in hand now. While the long delay and lack of communication were frustrating, it’s good to see they did eventually deliver everything.
